Umatilla Chemical Agent Disposal Facility

Welcome

The Umatilla Chemical Agent Disposal Facility (UMCDF) Comprehensive Monitoring Program (CMP) has been implemented to provide information on changes to the environment during the period of construction, operation, and closure of the UMCDF located at the U.S. Army Umatilla Chemical Depot in Oregon. The facility is operated under an Army contract to destroy obsolete chemical warfare agent munitions that are currently stored at the Depot. Monitoring of the environment is conducted through sampling of soil, air and biological samples collected from the surrounding community. Sampling is conducted four times per year and encompasses periods prior to facility operations, during processing of these munitions, and for a year after operations have been completed.
